A person who is trained to weld together metals and piping using arc welding and brazing is known as a Welder. Welders will install, maintain and repair structural steel structures as well as pipe systems in many different environments.
To be a welder it is beneficial to be good with your hands. Able to solve problems as you work and being skilled with tools will make you a good welder. If you are mechanically capable and willing to learn how to read blueprints and specifications you will become a great welder.
The first step in being a great welder is to enroll in a certified program like the York Industrial Trades Academy welding course.
When you complete the course with YITA you will be tested for certification with the CWB (Canadian Welding Bureau). The demand for certified welders in Canada is projected to increase annually for the foreseeable future.
